The Strength Leaper
These types of jumpers rely heavilty on their physical strength or explosive ability to jump. When you watch these types of athletes, they tend to look less springy and more powerful when they jump. These athletes have much more strength than speed or bounce. You may also notice that they jump of 2 feet and often can jump high at a standstill. In many cases, athletes may not even know that they are a strength leaper because they haven’t developed their muscle strength yet. Since these types of athletes naturally have much muscle strength, it would not make sense for these athletes to focus on strength training. These athletes would see the best results with a plan focusing on plyometrics.

The Elastic Leaper
These types of jumpers rely less on their strength and more on their natural general body composition. If you have ever seen an athlete jump in fluid motion that looks almost effortless, then you are watching an elastic leaper. These types tend to have long legs, long Achilles tendons, and smaller joints. In contrast with the strength leaper, they have much more bounce and speed then they do strength. The elastic leaper tends to jump higher off of one leg with a running start. These types of leapers excel because of their body structure and have natural plyometric ability. These types of athletes would benefit the most from a plan focusing more on weight training such as squats.

The two types of leapers just explained are the 2 ends of the spectrum as far as leaping types. There are many athletes that fit into various different combinations of the two. The main thing that must be understood is that no two people are alike. In order to develop your vertical effectively you must have a program that is individualized to properly develop your body type. Luke Lowrey has also made a worthy product in his Vertical Project.  This 400 page manuel covers in depth every aspect that has to do with vertical jump training.  We were really impressed with the vertical project with the fact that it is a very advanced program.  In his 15 week course, training methods covered are plyometrics, isometrics, explosive training, strength training, and even pool work.  Like Bagget, Lowrey not only explains what to do, he makes sure the person knows why they're doing it.  The Vertical Project comes with the "Double Your Vertical Leap" home study coure, "The Super Secret Instant Vertical Exercise", "Doube Your Vertical Leap UPN chart", "The Truth - Optimal Health For You", "Exercise Databank", "On-going & Unlimited Lifetime Upgrades".  From the feedback we've read and users we talked to, they definitely were not dissapointed with the amount of material given in this program.

The Bottom Line:

This is definitely a great product and very comparable with the vertical development bible. The vertical project is an advanced manuel that is filled with extensive information and drills.  It comes with a great guarantee where if you don't gain 6 inches in 60 days, you can return the program for a full refund.  The biggest drawback, and why we ranked this second to The Vertical Developmet Bible, was because of the price.  We felt it was a bit high, compared to The Vertical Development Bible and felt the Vert Bible gives you better bang for your buck.  If you can afford this program, we would definitely recommend it.

#3 Jump Experts

Virgil Aponte took a different approach in the Jump Experts program.  Opposed to the Vertical Bible and the Vertical Project, where its creators solely used their own research and experience, Aponte combined 17 experts in the field of vertical jump development to create this manuel.  Think of it this way - If The Vertical Bible and The Vertical Project were main dishes, Jump Experts would be a smorgasbord of information and exercises.  Aponte also seems like a credible guy seing as though he was a former WNBA strength coach and has also worked in the MLB.  The 440 page manuel covers most of the topics dealt in the the previous 2 programs and it even has 7 hours of audio which includes audio conversations with some of the leading vertical jump experts.  One thing that we felt needed improvement with Jump Experts -  it wasn't nearly as customizable compared to The Vertical Bible or Vertical Project.  But from our opinions and the feedback we've read from others, this also is a pretty good product.

The Bottom Line:

All in all, this is also a great product that will help you jumping higher.  Although this product is comparable The Vertical Bible and The Vertical Project we feel that the previous 2 are a bit more effective than this program.  The program itself is great, as it incorporates many different approaches to increasing your vertical, but from the feedback we've had on the program, the other 2 will show you a bit better results.  Also, although the price is much better than the Vertical Project and it comes with an 8 week money back refund, The Vertical Bible still has the best value.
